Slap the Mosquito, Enjoy the Itch

Let’s talk about mosquito bites. Yes — those tiny terrorists of the summer night. They sneak up uninvited, leave behind a welt, and vanish before the crime is noticed.

And yet...after the slap, after the dramatic “Why me?!” —comes the itch. And dare I say it… the scratching is divine. That delicious relief? Unmatched.

This, my friends, is the paradox of life. Contrast, discomfort, followed by the weirdest kind of bliss. No, I don’t seek mosquito bites. I’m not out here volunteering as tribute. But when it happens —I accept it, I deal with it, and I enjoy the ride.

Isn’t that what life is always offering us?

A little sting to wake us up.

A little discomfort to get us moving.

A little irritation to show us where we’re still holding tension.

And then —

A moment to laugh at ourselves.

A moment to scratch that itch and say,

“Well damn, that feels kind of amazing.”

So next time life bites —slap what needs slapping, feel what needs feeling, and then…

enjoy your itch. Because even the tiniest annoyances can be portals to presence, pleasure, and the wild dance of being human. 💜🙏😉

With so much love and gratitude,

Solaris
